DuPont Danisco Cellulosic Ethanol (DDCE) has entered into an agreement to buy land next to the Lincolnway Energy corn-based ethanol plant in Nevada, IA.
DDCE plans to eventually produce ethanol from corn stover at the location. The Iowa site is expected to provide economic synergies for both DDCE and Lincolnway.
DDCE is working with local corn growers to obtain commitments and collect thousands of tons of stover from fields this fall. It also is working with Pioneer Hi-Bred and Iowa State University to establish best practices in harvesting, storage and transportation.
