The Hydrus ultra-rugged handheld computer from Two Technologies has double-wall case construction to make it impervious to dust and water, plus internal shock absorbers for drop protection. The Windows CE computer sports a 320 x 240 landscape touch-screen daylight-readable display, a 55-key alpha numeric keypad, and an eight-position joystick. Processing parts include a Marvell PXA270, 624-megahertz CPU, 256 megabytes of random access memory, and up to 32 gigabytes of data storage. It has built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi communications capabilities, as well as a 5-megapixel camera to capture photographs and read bar codes. Dual batteries provide up to 40 hrs. of operation between charges.
