Monsanto buys biological research firm

Monsanto has announced it will purchase Beeologics, a biological research firm. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Beeologics develops biological products to control pests and diseases. Among its current projects is one focused on protecting bee health. Monsanto will use Beeologic’s expertise to expand its use of biologicals in agriculture, an area that is expected to continue to grow.  

Monsanto, which has expertise in managing a technology pipeline, will support the Beeologics team and its Technology Advisory Board in advancing its pipeline.
