In-furrow corn treatment

Mar 20, 2008 12:25 PM

EMD CROP BioScience has launched Torque IF, which contains the company's proprietary LCO Promoter Technology, a naturally occurring molecule that enhances plant development by turning on the plant's growth processes.

Torque can be applied in-furrow or in a 2×2 placement. It is compatible with most liquid starter fertilizers and insecticides.

“Corn treated with Torque IF will develop bigger, healthier root systems earlier, have quicker emergence, and strong stand establishment,” says Scott Fleetwood, vice president for sales and marketing with EMD. “The stronger a crop starts, the stronger it usually finishes.”

Torque IF increases yield by an average of 4.4 bu./acre, according to the company. The cost is $4/acre.
