Pioneer corn, soybean seed market share grows

Corn and soybean seed sales were higher for Pioneer Hi-Bred in 2010, with the company noting a two-point gain in corn seed market share and a four-point gain in soybean market share. In addition, Pioneer says its global seed sales grew by 14% on 8% volume gains delivering against its long-term growth objectives.

Gains were split equally between the Pioneer brand and other brands distributed through its PROaccess business strategy, according to the company.

“This continued growth is a strong testament for our Right Product Right Acre strategy,” said Paul E. Schickler, president, Pioneer Hi-Bred. “Based on what we are seeing in our field trials and our conversations with farmers this summer, we expect another strong year in 2011.”
