HITACHI LAUNCHES a new line of lithium ion cordless products. Powered by HXP technology, the power tools' batteries have three times the life of standard batteries and are significantly lighter, according to Hitachi. They also are compatible with Hitachi's 18v DMR and DVF3 series tools.

The lithium ion batteries power many of Hitachi's power tools, including the KC18DAL three-piece combo kit. The kit includes an 18v lithium ion hammer drill, a CR18DL 18v lithium ion reciprocating saw with tool-less blade-changing system, and two high-capacity 3.0Ah HXP lithium ion batteries and universal quick charger.
