The new Fendt 700 Series tractors from Germany have finally arrived on U.S. shores. The series, which was previewed at Agritechnica 2011, is made up of six models ranging from 110 to 195 PTO hp. The tractors are equipped with new Tier 4i-compliant Deutz 6.06L, 6-cyl. turbocharged engines that Fendt says provide more horsepower and 10% better fuel economy than previous models.

All models in the series are built for field, loader work, and transport applications. They feature a redesigned front axle capable of handing 12.5 tons while allowing for a 52-degree turning angle. A new five-post cab, with a vertically panoramic front windshield and full-length right-hand window, provides 77 degrees of upward visibility.

Fendt says these tractors offer best-in-class operator control and maneuverability due to Fendt-exclusive features like VarioActive steering, self-activated FSC (Fendt Stability Control), and the Vario CVT and Tractor Management System (TMS). All cabs are carried on either mechanical or pneumatic suspension systems.

The new series is capable of handling up to 39,600 pounds gross weight. Maximum rear lift capacity is 21,120 pounds. Tractors can be ballasted with front and rear weights to distribute 60 percent of the weight on the rear axle for a 60:40 ratio, or vice versa for increased pulling power.

The 700 Series tractors offer 22 equipment connections, including six rear and two front double-acting hydraulic valves, factory-installed front and rear 3-pt. hitches, and full ISOBUS connection.

Operators can direct all tractor and implement controls, camera functions, operation documentation and the automatic steering system using one 10.4-inch touch-screen monitor. The monitor, called Varioterminal, displays up to four applications, including video camera inputs, simultaneously. Data can be recorded and transferred wirelessly to and from the office.

Satellite-assisted steering guidance is available as an option. Headland management comes standard.

Manufacturer suggested list price: Starts at $153,000.
