Cleaner Diesel for Farms

The diesel fuel purchased for farm work will soon contain less sulfur. On June 1, refineries started producing a low-sulfur diesel fuel for off-road equipment including farm vehicles. By December 1, all diesel used for farming and other off-road industries will be the cleaner fuel.

The new diesel contains 85% less sulfur at 500 parts per million compared to previous blends with 3,000 parts per million. Last year, the cleaner low-sulfur blend became available for on-road vehicles.
