Ingersoll Rand Company announced in May that is looking for alternatives for its Bobcat and construction-related businesses. Two alternatives include a spin-off of the businesses to shareholders or an outright sale of the businesses, according to the company. Herbert Henkel, chairman of Ingersoll Rand, says the company wants to move away from a “capital-intense, heavy-machinery profile.”
