InfoAg to highlight hot topics in precision agriculture

InfoAg 213 is bound to yield plenty of innovative ideas about the future of agriculture that we will be sharing with you next week.

You may have noticed lately that Farm Industry News has been boosting up our coverage of technology to improve your farm's efficiency. Our new editorial director, Willie Vogt, explained this in his introductory blog. We launched our A to Z of technology changing agriculture list in May, and since then we've covered some tips for prepping your data for harvest, the industry's first multi-hybrid planter, a student ag engineer tractor design competition, some new tool innovations, and a lot more.

I'll be keeping up the pace of our tech coverage when I attend next week's InfoAg conference in Springfield, Ill., to hear from the leaders in the precision agriculture industry. And I'll bring the news on the hottest trends in ag technology to you during and after the event.

Some of the topics I'm looking forward to:

  • Measuring tech ROI on the farm, by Brian Watkins, Watkins Farms
  • Advantages of aggregating data, by Terry Griffin, Cresco Ag
  • Ag apps available for smartphones and tablets, by Brian Arnall, Oklahoma State University
  • Climate and weather data for the farmer's site specific toolkit, by Brenda Ortiz, Auburn University
  • Precision Irrigation, by Jose Payero, Clemson University
  • Variable hybrid Planting, by Jason Webster, Beck's Hybrids
  • Practical, agile robotics for ag: Impacting labor, production inputs and yield, by Charles Grinnell, Harvest Automation

So check back at farmindustrynews.com or follow us on Twitter to get the latest from InfoAg 2013. I'm bound to hear a lot of innovative ideas about the future of agriculture that I look forward to sharing with you, our readers.
