Familiar faces make trip overseas

You never know who you'll meet when you're traveling overseas.

So as I said last week, I'm here in Agritechnica and I'm already running into people I know. Of course, I did stop at the USA Pavilion where I might find a familiar face. In fact I did, when I caught up with Ron Roglis, director of marketing and sales, HCC Inc. and he had a little news that typifies why companies go to the show in the first place.

"We've been coming six years, but this is the first time we had a distributor for our product," he explains. The company has made its Gateway Sieves which work with a range of combines in both plastic and aluminum design.

HCC - makers of grain reel enhancements and more - has often had innovations for U.S. farmers, and now farmers in Europe can have the same tool. Roglis says his company has found a distributor for its products which work on Lexion, New Holland and John Deere combines.

It's the value of any show to connect companies with customers. For Agritechnica exhibitors the value is connecting with not just farmers but with distributors that can help get your product from the warehouse to the customer. And for Roglis, that's what this year is about.

"We have the product on display here at the USA pavilion, and our distributor will have it on display at their exhibit," he explains.

That distributor - Agri Broker Power Siebe - offers farmers a range of combine upgrades, that now include that HCC product.

It's a solid example of getting products from maker to farmer in new ways. This is just a quick first-day impression. I'll share more as the week progresses, plan on joining me every afternoon here at Farm Industry News this week.
