SHIPPED WITH BIODIESEL

May 1, 2005 12:00 PM

All tractors and combines leaving John Deere manufacturing plants soon will be shipped with B2 fuel in the tanks. B2 fuel is a blend of 2% biodiesel made from domestic renewable resources like soybean oil and then blended with 98% petroleum diesel.

“If B2 were used in all diesel engines in the U.S., the United States could displace the equivalent of about 1 billion gallons of foreign oil per year,” reports Don Borgman, John Deere Ag Marketing Center.
