CARGILL PLANS BIODIESEL PLANT

The largest biodiesel plant in the United States is scheduled for construction in Iowa Falls, IA. This summer, Cargill reported that it plans to construct a plant for the production of 37.5 million gallons of biodiesel. The company also plans to build a glycerin refinery adjacent to its existing soybean crush facility in Iowa Falls. The refinery will produce 30 million pounds of glycerin a year. If regulatory permits are approved, the biodiesel plant should be in production by April 2006.
