Fuel-efficient chain saw

Sep 18, 2006 1:12 PM, By Katie Sauck

New chain saw reduces fuel consumption and emissions

Husqvarna describes its new 460 chain saw as being high powered, heavy duty and responsive. Powered by a 3.7-hp Husqvarna X-Torq engine, the 460 delivers power and torque while reducing fuel consumption by up to 20% and emissions by up to 60%.

The 460 features a precision-forged three-piece crankshaft, heavy-duty muffler and a metal clutch cover. Its air injection system removes up to 97% of debris before it ever enters the air filter, resulting in smoother operation and decreased wear on the engine. The new chain saw has an anti-vibration system that keeps vibration levels low. It also includes an air purge, a decompression valve and a combined choke/stop control.
