New self-propelled sprayer

Jul 11, 2006 10:18 AM, Katie Sauck

Sprayer’s boom maintains a constant height

John Deere introduces its new high-capacity 4930 self-propelled sprayer. With the sprayer’s Boom Trac Pro, sensors monitor the distance from the boom to the ground and adjust the boom automatically, maintaining a constant height over the crop. The 4930 also offers GreenStar 2, which automatically turns boom sections on and off at end rows, waterways and other obstacles.

The 325-hp self-propelled sprayer has a 1,200-gal. high-flow solution system designed to maintain spray speed on soft or hilly terrain. It also offers variable-rate technology, as-applied mapping and AutoTrac assisted steering.

The suggested retail price is $291,500. For more information, see your John Deere dealer, contact John Deere, Dept. FIN, 11145 Thompson Ave., Lenexa, KS 66219, call 866/993-3373, or visit www.deere.com.
