John Deere weather station

Dec 5, 2005 1:52 PM, Wayne Wenzel

Just in time for holiday gift giving, Oregon Scientific now offers several John Deere licensed weather forecasting products ranging from $25 for a digital indoor/outdoor thermometer to $350 for a full-featured weather station.

The complete weather station comes equipped with outdoor sensors that operate on solar power. The station has seven channels and accepts up to three additional sensors.

The wireless weather station has three remote sensors operating on solar power or by lithium batteries. It also forecasts the weather for the next 12-24 hours based on barometric pressure.

Long-range sensors transmit up to 300-feet from the main unit. A large LCD touch screen illuminated comes with an electro-luminescent backlight. An anemometer measures wind speed and direction. The unit also measures humidity, barometric pressure and outdoor temperature. The unit is PC compatible (with optional RS-232 serial cable and software).
