All about tractors

A new coffee-table book for John Deere enthusiasts is available from Voyageur Press. Ultimate John Deere: The History of the Big Green Machines covers the history of John Deere tractors and includes biographies of John Deere himself and other key personnel in the company. The author, Ralph Sanders, also writes about Deere sales methods and John Deere's methods to top the competition.

This 208-page book also showcases photos of more than 50 different restored John Deere tractors as well as period ads, brochures, schematic diagrams, paintings by Walter Haskell Hinton, and photos from Deere & Company Archives. Circle 193.

Another book from Voyageur Press will please all tractor lovers. The Big Book of Farm Tractors covers the complete history of the tractor from 1855 to the present and includes many tractor manufacturers. It not only tells the stories of the tractors, but also features the workers who built them and the farmers who used them.

Collectibles, sales memorabilia, period ads, and historic black and white photos are included in the book, written by Robert Pripps and photographed by Andrew Morland. Circle 192.
